Weather Policy

Updated May 30, 2023

Unfortunately weather is something Mobile Battles cannot control. We will always try to stick to your scheduled event unless referee transportation, equipment function or player safety becomes a concern. Rain/moisture and muddy battlefields can damage the battlefield equipment and cause the blasters and darts to jam - which frustrates the players and can potentially cause injury during play. In the case of rain, as long as we have a few hours of dry, sunny weather before the event and if the battlefield is well drained and not saturated/muddy, chances are we can proceed as planned. If inclement weather does affect your event, there are a few options:

  1. You can reschedule your event for another date/time and your down payment will apply to the future date. You have up to 1 year to reschedule. If you choose to do this, please send us a few possible dates so we can rebook you as soon as possible.

  2. You can keep the event as planned if there's a strong possibility the weather will improve - please keep in touch with with us via email about changing weather conditions starting 24 hours before the event and throughout the day.

  3. You can cancel your event if bad weather appears imminent and you cannot/do not want to reschedule, but your down payment is nonrefundable so we encourage customers to consider rescheduling instead.

If you choose to have Mobile Battles come to an event, despite inclement weather forecasts and/or recommendations from your referee, you will still be responsible for paying the referees the travel fee, if applicable, if they arrive and deem the battlefield area unsuitable for play.

Also, once battlefield setup takes place and the party begins, you will be responsible for paying the full amount due for your event if game play has to stop periodically or completely during the event for weather. Our equipment is not "weather-proof" so we cannot just wait it out and hope the storm passes quickly, and we often have additional parties scheduled on the same day so the referee(s) are not expected to stay beyond the original event end time.
